Leading up to the show, I experienced typical performance week emotions – excitement, anticipation, fear, worry, the whole gamut. I contemplated what would happen if I missed a catch, versus if I nailed it! I recognized life would not change much either way. If I was successful at both tricks I would be ready to move on in the next class, if not, well, I would keep working on the trick, mapping movement, watching video, seeking insight. Among the worries I experienced, fun kept coming back to mind. I have so much fun when I am flying, moving in wonderful and graceful (sometimes) ways. This is what I love most about flying trapeze – moving, feeling the lively sensation from muscles deep within my body. Remember and appreciate what you love about what you do as you move through the gamut of performance week feelings.
